John Haymaker, Sr. (1959-63). On Crimora Charge we had Ralph S. Malcomb (1963-66) and Darrell
Bays (1966-68). On Grottoes Charge we had W. Siegfried Volskis (1968-69); Joseph L. Lotts (1969-
73); Carl O. Stewart (1973-77); E. Lee Chattin (1977-84); and Tom Pentecost (June to Dec. 1984). On
Mt. Bethel Charge we had James Harris (Jan. to May 1985); Brenda Carol Folk (June 1985 to May
1986); Durwood Cowan (1986 to Apr. 1990); and Lay Speaker Raymond Rowley (Apr. to June 1990).
On Annex Charge we had Lynn Wilber (1990-91); Edward Wright (1991-92); and Corinne "Kay" Marsh
(since 1992).

Cherished Memories. Benjamin Via Shifflett, 85, of Harriston, died June 4, 1954, after a long illness.
Born Dec. 25, 1868, in Greene Co., Mr. Shifflett was the son of the late Benjamin J. and Julia Shifflett. He was a
farmer most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gurnie Coleman Shifflett; four daughters, Mrs. Walter
Haislip, Harriston; Mrs. J. C. Grimm, Humelstone, Pa.; Mrs. N. B. Bruce, Crimora; and Miss Ruby Shifflett, at
home; three sons, Harry Shifflett, Waynesboro; Henry Shifflett, Grottoes; and Sherman Shifflett, at home;
26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends visited Etter Funeral Home. His funeral service was held
June 7th at Harriston Methodist Church, conducted by Dr. A. E. Shelton. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were James Shifflett, Charles Shifflett, Eskew Patterson, James Breeden, Jerome Kelley, and
Wilbert Royer. Flower bearers were grandchildren of Mr. Shifflett.
